Jim Beyer taught high school woodshop from 1973-1976 and then decided he needed a bigger challenge (that's not to say teenage students aren't a challenge). Jim started Beyer Construction and began building homes in the South Haven and Bangor area. By 1985, he began building homes in the greater Paw Paw area and moved there himself in 1987.
WOODSONG VALLEY CONDOMINIUMS
After building many single family homes, some light commercial projects and medical buildings, he was approached by Del Hambley in 1993 to form a partnership to develop an "open space" style condominium project.
The project resulted in what is currently known as Woodsong Valley Condominiums, an 86-unit community on"O" Avenue in Kalamazoo (across from K.V.C.C.). |

BUCKHAM HIGHLANDS
As a partner in Bey-Moure LLC, Beyer Construction developed a 48 site "Open Space" community in Oshtemo Township called Buckham Highlands.
Beyer Construction builds custom homes and also homes for sale in the Van Buren and Kalamazoo areas. With an extensive library of plans and custom designing of plans right in our office, we are usually able to find the right plan to fit the customer's needs.
Jim Beyer is currently the president of the Home Builders Association of Greater Kalamzoo, with over 600 builder and associate members. In this capacity, he can stay in touch with current events in the building industry and help to shape the rules and regulations that affect the quality and price of homes and communities.
